The Foundation
My journey into technology began in Bayelsa State, long before I wrote my first line of code. I was introduced to AutoCAD by my father, a civil engineer, who trained my twin brother Shedrach and me in technical drawing with the expectation that we would follow a similar path.
Through this foundation, I worked with architectural firms producing roof plans, foundation layouts, floor plans, sections, drainage systems, flyovers, and warehouse designs. This experience shaped my understanding of structure, precision, and how complex ideas are translated into real, functional systems.
The Transition
I went on to study Computer Science at Michael and Cecilia Ibru University, where my interest in building systems grew stronger. During my industrial training in my second year, I enrolled in a short professional program at ElitePath, where I gained deeper exposure to frontend development.
I worked with technologies such as React, Next.js, Node.js, and WordPress, and began building real products as a frontend engineer.
The Philosophy
As I gained experience, I became aware of a recurring limitation. While I could implement interfaces effectively, many product decisions lacked clarity around user needs, structure, and long-term scalability. This realization led me into product design, where I studied design systems, interaction patterns, and structured design approaches. Over time, I developed the ability to design with intent and build with confidence.
Today, I operate at the intersection of product strategy, design, and engineering. I design systems, not just interfaces, and I build what I design with a strong understanding of constraints, performance, and real-world use.
My work includes:
- Fintech platforms serving over 80,000 users
- SaaS products for workforce and business operations
- AI-powered tools and intelligent interfaces
- Mobile-first applications across Africa
- Multiplayer game experiences with real-time mechanics
Approach
I approach product development as a craftsman — with a clear view of the outcome from the very beginning. Every decision is made with execution, scalability, and longevity in mind.
Good design is not just how something looks. It is how it works, how it scales, and how it holds up when real people use it under real conditions.
Now
I'm currently at 9PSB, leading design across the Bank9ja ecosystem — Mobile App, Web App, Merchant Collect, Corporate Banking, and Agency Banking. I'm also building independent products in the fintech, mobility, and gaming space.
If you're building something meaningful and need a designer who can also ship — let's talk.
